DB Sentinel is developed by Igor Souza, an individual developer based in Brazil. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the DB Sentinel app.
No intermediary server
DB Sentinel connects directly from your device to the Oracle database you configure. There is no DB Sentinel-operated server or gateway in between. We do not run any backend that your data passes through.
What stays on your device
- Saved connections, including host, port, service name/SID, and username, are stored locally on your device using standard app storage.
- Passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain, protected with hardware-backed encryption, and never synced to iCloud Keychain or any other service.
- Display preferences and your audit history, such as a local log of dangerous actions like killing a session or running risky SQL, also stay on your device only.
What we do not collect
DB Sentinel has no user accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry. We do not know who our users are, what they query, or how they use the app.
Payments and subscriptions
Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. DB Sentinel never receives, transmits, or stores your payment or card details. That information is handled by Apple under its own privacy policy. Subscription status is verified on-device using Apple's StoreKit; no purchase data is sent to any server we operate.
If you join our TestFlight beta, Apple may collect crash and diagnostic data as part of its standard TestFlight service, independent of DB Sentinel's own architecture. This does not apply to the public App Store release.
Important limitation
Because nothing is backed up outside your device, if you switch phones, reinstall the app, or lose your device, there is no way to recover your saved connections or audit history. Consider keeping a note of your connection details, such as host, service name, and username, somewhere else if that matters to you.
Children's privacy
DB Sentinel is a professional database administration tool and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Since the app has no way to reach you directly, please check this page periodically if you have concerns.
